Ingredients

For the dough:

3 ½ cups all purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

2 tablespoons curry powder

1 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes

½ cup ice cold water

For the filling:

1 pound ground beef

1 onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon thyme leaves

1 tbsp of Jerk Seasoning

1 tsp of grated ginger

1 scotch bonnet diced

2 stalks of scallions diced

2 tsp oyster sauce

1 tsp browning

½ cup Bread Crumbs

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, turmeric powder, and curry powder. Add the cold butter cubes and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the flour

Step 2

add the ice-cold water, a little at a time, and mix until the dough comes together. Don’t over knead the dough of crust wont be flaky. Form it into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Step 3

While the dough is chilling, Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spatula, until browned and cooked through. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until softened and fragrant.

Step 4

Stir in the thyme leaves, scotch bonnet and scallions. Stir in Breadcrumbs this will soak up most of the liquid/ Remove from heat and let the filling cool.

Step 5

Preheat your oven to 350°F (190°C).

Step 6

Remove the dough from the refrigerator and roll it out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4-1/8-inch thickness. Use a round cutter or a glass to cut out circles of dough, approximately 4-5 inches in diameter.

Step 7

Place about 2 tablespoonsl of the cooled filling onto one half of each dough circle, leaving a border around the edges. Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Use a fork to seal the edges by pressing them together.

Step 8

Place the patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and let the patties cool for a few minutes before serving.

Step 10

Enjoy!
