Southern Fried Cabbage and Shrimp

Ingredients

1 head of cabbage

6 strips of bacon cut into pieces

1 package of Andouille Sausage sliced

1 lb of shrimp peeled and deveined

2 tsp of all purpose seasoning

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 Green Bell Pepper sliced

1 Red Bell Pepper sliced

1 One onion sliced

3 cloves of garlic

1 tbsp of all purpose seasoning

1 tsp of lemon pepper

2 tsp of smoked paprika

1 tsp of pepper

Directions

Step 1

Slice the peppers and onion and season the shrimp with AP seasoning and smoked paprika.

Step 2

In a large skillet sauté the chopped bacon and sliced andouille sausage until cooked through. Drain on a plate lined with paper towel.

Step 3

In that same skilled remove some of the bacon fat leaving about 2 tablespoons and sautee 1 minute and 30 seconds one side and 1 minute on the other.

Step 4

Set to the side then add in the sliced onions and bell peppers. Season lightly with salt and pepper and sauté until translucent then add in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant( about 2 minutes)

Step 5

Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet and get it coated in the juices of the pan then cover and let steam for 10-15 minutes.

Step 6

Remove the lid then season with AP seasoning lemon pepper, smoked paprika and pepper.

Step 7

Add the bacon, sausage and shrimp back to the skillet. Mix to combine and let cook for about 5 more minutes.

Step 8

Serve while hot and enjoy!
